Vampires, werewolves and airbenders lead the pack at the Razzies, an Academy Awards spoof that hands out prizes for the year's worst films.

The blockbuster supernatural tale The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and the action fantasy The Last Airbender tied for the most nominations Monday with nine each, including worst picture.

Also nominated for worst picture are Jennifer Aniston's action comedy The Bounty Hunter, Sarah Jessica Parker's romantic romp Sex and the City 2 and the Twilight parody Vampires Suck.

Twilight star Kristen Stewart had a worst-actress nomination for her role as a teen caught in a love triangle involving her vampire boyfriend (Robert Pattinson) and werewolf pal (Taylor Lautner). Pattinson and Lautner both were nominated for worst actor.

Razzies founder John Wilson said that though Vampires Suck was a Twilight spoof, Eclipse actually was funnier to watch.

Eclipse

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is waning at the box office but still has gotten off to a blockbuster start with (US) $161 million in its first five days, according to studio estimates.

The third chapter in Summit Entertainment's vampire romance fell off sharply after debuting last Wednesday with $68.5 million. That was the second-best opening-day haul ever, behind its predecessor, last year's The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which opened with $72.7 million.

After that huge first day, Eclipse averaged about $23 million daily over the next four days. That includes an estimate for a slow Sunday as people turned their attention to Fourth of July activities in the States and Canada Day festivities here at home.

This week in the movie and celebrity spotlight: The mega stars of Eclipse (Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart, and Robert Pattinson, in case you've been living under a rock) descended on Los Angeles and New York as the highly anticipated third film made its debut in theatres across the country. Not to be outdone, the A-list cast of Grown Ups including Adam Sandler and Salma Hayek hit the red carpet in N.Y. to promote their new comedy while grand dame (and Oscar winner) Helen Mirren dished on her starring role in Love Ranch, a film that just happens to be directed by her husband Taylor Hackford.

Cineplex's Jolanda Grillone chatted with former Abercrombie & Fitch model Kellan Lutz while he was in Toronto recently and got the low down on the story behind his nickname - "Crazy Kellan" - what kind of training he did for the film and why he couldn't stop laughing while filming the big fight scene.

Catch up on what his co-stars Ashley Greene and Xavier Samuel had to say about The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Xavier Samuel

Cineplex's Jolanda Grillone chatted with Aussie Xavier Samuel and got the 27-year-old's account of what it's like to be the newbie in the latest Twilight flick, Eclipse. Not only is Samuel, ahem, cutting his teeth on one of the most anticipated films of the year, he essentially opens the movie and reveals his relative lack of Twilight awareness, working with director David Slade and what it was like portraying a bloodthirsty Newborn.

Don't forget to head back here for our Q&A with cutie Kellan Lutz.
Alice Cullen

Cineplex's Jolanda Grillone recently sat down with the Eclipse beauty to talk about, what else, the driving cultural phenomenon that is the Twilight series and found out what the cast likes to do during their downtime - games nights are high on their list - how her life has changed since she signed on to play Alice Cullen and what fans can expect from the third installment of the vampire series.

Stay tuned for interviews with hunky Kellan Lutz and newcomer Xavier Samuel.

Stephenie Meyer

Stephenie Meyer
, the 36-year-old author of the "Twilight Saga," has yet another smash hit on her hands. "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: an Eclipse Novella" has scored sales of more than 1 million copies in the U.S. since its June 5 release. Publisher Little, Brown Books for Young Readers said Monday it now ranks as the year's best-selling book so far. It had debuted on several best-seller lists in the U.S., as well as in numerous countries around the world.
